Hippies Invented the Internet
I fucking hate the thesis that hippies are the progenitors of internet culture, even if it's a little true.

Why do you hate the thesis? Is it too easy a premise? The backgrounds of many many influential developers included goals of societal advancement for all and world peace. TCP/IP, net neutrality, one-size-fits-all format, non-governmental control all reek of anti-capitalism hippie mantras.
