Studio 60

C'mon you people! Wasn't John Goodman fucking brilliant on Studio 60? The two coinciding timelines of Pahrump, NV and Hollywood, CA? The culture wars battle!? C'mon you people!

No, he wasn't. That show will most likely die under the feet of most of america.

I agree that he was interesting - I don't know if I would go "fucking brilliant"...but... (PS: His left eye was bugging me all episode.)

My commentary?

1) The line from Matt to Red State Harriet "You hate us because you think we think you are stupid, and we hate you because we think you are stupid." is probably the best piece of dialogue in the show so far.

2) Extending on what we learned in previous episodes - although Sorkin says he hates stereotypical blacks - he has now written Simon to be a poor, gang-running youth who has turned into a "all my friends are in prison"-having, drug-using adult. How original.

3) The best reason to watch this show was / is / and probably will continue to be Steven Weber. I never thought that a dude from Wings could be such a badass...and I love it.

Do you own stock in this show? It really isn't that great.

The best line was the "cast of a Fellini film" flying to Nevada, but I still have a hard time buying Matt as a "brilliant" comedy writer if the best he can come up with is standards and practices being run by Jesus. C'mon Sorkin, hire some comedy writers to do the actual sketches.

C'mon! Jesus as the head of the standards board? That's seriously more funny than anything that's been on SNL in five years (excluding TV Funhouse).

Yeah Rex, do you own stock in that?

And the SNL comparasion just isn't saying much, (except for this gem).

pahrumps a funny name.
not so sure about a show that has iffy ratings putting a two part episode on right now, it could totally backfire. i hate to be continued episodes. that said, i am a big fan of lost, which is one big to be continued episode.
