Media Person of the Year

What does it say about the state of journalism in 2006 that a comedian (Stephen Colbert) wins the Media Person of the Year award? (Stewart won in '04.)

It feels vaguely wrong, though, to classify him only as a comedian, because his blend of comedy really throws valid criticism at the TV pundits for all the bullshit they pull in airing bite-sized bits of crappy propaganda to the drooling masses. He should get some kind of hyphenated classification with comedy in it, but with some other suffix that, like, implies he is stimulating the debate as much as he is screwing it up.
