the drop-off has been very, very noticeable. I hate to say it, but I actually now prefer idolator (which is not saying very much) to stereogum. the gum's current mix of gossipy/gawkernish and music just does not work (only slightly better than the rathole that gawker has become).

Idolator themselves first called the Stereogum drop-off back in January, tagging it as, "a noisy, overcrowded echo chamber."
Stereogum RULED when it posted Britney and LiLo stuff. Seriously. At least you could tell it was being driven by a PERSON.
