Dead or Alive

Has there ever been a good movie spun off from a video game? If you say Super Mario Bros., you're foolin'. Well, now we have Dead or Alive to contend with. I can't exactly say it looks good, but it could be the best of the genre.

Or, what are the best toy and board game movies?

Best Board Game to movie: Clue.

Best video game to movie: (Sadly) The original Mortal Kombat. Especially when you're drunk. Or Final Fantasy: Advent Children.

Best video game to movie when stoned: Pokemon.

The first Tomb Raider wasn't that completely awful. Ditto with the first Resident Evil.

Personally, I'm waiting for River City Ransom, the Movie, to come out.

And, adm, you have to take into consideration all of the Star Wars games out there that were pretty great at the time...and the fantastic Indiana Jones point and click games for the PC that Lucasarts did in the 90's. And those are just 2 series of films. I would say there's been plenty of good games to come from movies.

Best toy or board game movies? That's pretty much it, isn't it, Rex? I'm afraid we'll never see; Life, Sorry, Trouble, Mouse Trap, Monopoly, Chutes and Ladders, Trivial Pursuit, Apples to Apples, Risk, Crossbows and Catapults...the Movie. Ever.

There was Twister, however... Imagine Bill Pullman flicking the spinner, calling out, "Right hand, green!", and having Cary Elwes not be able to reach. Classic

Let's not overlook the D&D movie.

(Actually, feel free to overlook it...)

yeah, geo, i was trying to say that there weren't any. was just wondering what people were thinking. the star wars games were good. i think goldeneye gets praised sometimes, too.

"mortal kombat" was the first thing that came into my mind when i saw the post, too, but really what i was thinking was, "well, it wasn't bad for a video game movie." tomb raider was maybe a little better, but the same applies.

Silent Hill is better then people give it credit for. But there's yet to be a GREAT video game movie.
