How'd this happen? I actually like most of the nominees on the MTV VMAs this year.

Dang.. I was really hoping that Kanye's "Can't tell me nothing" video was going to be nominated for best video.. that's still the best I've seen all year (hands down).. disclaimer.. i've only seen 5 videos all year. i feel old.

true dat, it's certainly not from lack of exposure. I'll restate my previous comment by saying it's 5 videos I "remember" watching or made an impression on me. I watched that Battles video and all I could think was, hey that's a Ween tune. That's old manliness 101 and I feel shame. I'm afraid that my comments will start to include, "these kids today" and "when I was college" but really a lot of it I don't get. I look at that best video of the year list and nothing speaks to me other than the Amy Winehouse track because she's talking about rehab.
What I do know, is that when I watch, no one is going to have a bass guitar come crashing down on their head and the only drama will be from lame-o jumping out of the crowd with a url sketched on his tight abs. When I was in college... dammit.
