I do not know who Heffernan is besides a newish NYTMag columnist. But I was greatly concerned when I read it this morn. Does she really consider surfing before-and-after photos of a teen's rhinoplasty akin to reading a book of any sort?
I'll admit, I'm biased. I always think when a writer uses a piece to admit something weak about themselves only to turn the topic to make it seem they are not as weak as they fear to be a writer that needs to find something actually interesting to write about.
