Firebrand

Two thoughts on tv: 1) Every once in a while, someone will ask if I've seen some tv commercial. Because I fast-forward through everything, the answer is always no. 2) The TiVo revolution literally made tv better because you were empowered to only watch good programming. Putting those two together, one might wonder if Firebrand has a chance.

reminds me of a simplified version of heavy.com

Funny thing about watching TV for me now: I watch more commercials. I've found lately that if I'm not engaged in a show that I surf for commercials, not programs. How fucked is that?

I think YouTube and online video viewing have damaged my brain.

So, couldn't something like Firebrand perform the same filtering function that TiVo does? For better or worse, ads are a part of contemporary culture - I guess I can see the upside of not having to wade through tonnes of crap ads to get to the stuff that may be interesting or vaguely thought-provoking.
