Speed Racer
It's true, the stills from the Wachowskis brothers' new Speed Racer (starring Christina Ricci) do look like some sort of completely new form of animation-cum-live-action. UPDATE: the trailer.

This is totally the way to make movies now. I haven't actually seen Beowulf yet, but in general I think its approach -- continuing down the path of slavish devotion to pixel-perfect realism -- is the wrong one. Better to go for decoupaged hyper-reality a la 300 or (it appears) Speed Racer. (Yes, decoupaged!)

I mean, I don't even know if that's animation, CGI, or whatever-all I know is that I wanna see this movie, like, now. and I have to agree with Gavin- the Wachowski brothers are insanely innovative and talented
