Spokeo

A new super stalking site: Spokeo. Enter someone's name and it will update you whenever the person does something online -- updates their Facebook notes, adds to their Amazon Wishlist, uploads photo to Flickr... and so forth. [via]

At first when I saw Spokeo I thought "great; I can finally keep up on my friends". Then I realized in grabbing all of my gmail contacts it was including recruiters that I had worked with. And that made me think "geez, so if a co-worker gets my gmail, they'll know everything I'm up to". I really don't want my possible employers or co-workers ot know what I'm up to or have access to my private life. Sure, I have a few old things pop up when I google my name. But in due time they'll disappear. Seems like with this they can reel me back in and spy.

One company I talked with about it called it "Spook-eo", for obvious reasons. Good people, good service... questionable results.
