Santogold Vid

Yay! A new video for the most-played song at Chez Rex: Santogold's "L.E.S. Artistes" (higher quality WMV). I don't get the horse stuff at the beginning, but I like the green blood later on! (Directed by Nima Nourizadeh.) UPDATE: someone in the comments remembers that this is a homage to Jodorowsky's The Holy Mountain. You can see it around 9:30 in this clip.

Just for the record it's a direct Holy Mountain homage/rip. Watch at about 9:30: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jiv1qbu0Pz8

Hmmm... Jodorowski is the new namecheck for of the moment music-vids, I think. See MGMT's recent "Time to Pretend," also recreating Holy Mountain:

Well, thank God it was the symbolic massacre from The Holy Mountain they were referencing, and not, oh, the crucified and skinned parade of animals, or the frog and lizard reenactement of the conquistadors from the same movie, or the elephants funeral from Santa Sangre, or...

Come to think of it, Jodorowsky shouldn't be referenced as much as he should just be kept away from people with mental illnesses.
