I own about 1,500 CDs. The dude with the largest record collection in the world owns about 1 million albums, and 1.5 million singles. Rocketboom interviews him, shot in a style sorta like Errol Morris. He's trying to sell it for $3 million.
It was originally on sale on eBay, but no one purchased it.

Every time I think I am a record collector of any real merit I realize that there are super collectors out there who out strip us all. His story is way sad though. I wonder if the LOC would help step in to save the archive. There has to be more of a story there.

In college, one pre-qualifying dating (fing) factor was that he had to have over 500 CDs. Paul Mawhinney is hot.
