Downtown Wishek

ESPN Mag has an excerpt from Chuck's newest novel, Downtown Owl. I can guarantee this will be the only book to ever feature a passage about my high school sports+girls rival -- Wishek, ND (pop. 800).

[I finished the book last night. Might say more later.]

Thursday, October 2nd - 8 pm

Chuck Klosterman reads from his first novel Downtown Owl at the Triple Rock Social Club; doors open at 7:00.

This is a ticketed event sponsored by Magers and Quinn Booksellers. For tickets ($8), come in our store, or visit www.magersandquinn.com or www.triplerocksocialclub.com. Chuck Klosterman will be interviewed by Pioneer Press pop music critic, Ross Raihala. The ELO cover band E.L. nO will play before and after the interview.

Oh, and one more thing: look for a Klosterman poster coming soon from Aesthetic Apparatus.

Wishek is where I used to go pheasant hunting.

I can attest to the inordinate number of hotties from Wishek, ND from my days as the FBLA State Reporter. The female population there made joining FFA almost a logical option just to go to two state conferences with minimal supervision at the Best Western Bismark

That reads like the Dakotan version of Cameron Crowe's Fast Times.
