The New Radio

Good interview with a researcher who's studying the use of pop songs in commercials. [via]

I've read accounts of separate incidents in Wisconsin where two people were cited for driving drunk in the same vehicle at the same time. The first was when two guys drove home with one person working the pedals and one steering. That seemed like such an airtight plan. It's so easy to imagine the conversation just before they climbed in the car. It would have involved dirt jumps for their Geo Tracker and someone holding someone else's beer. I'm certain that each guy had one eye shut against the specter of seeing double when they were pulled over, too. The second incident was just the other day in Rietbrock, Wisconsin when one girl took hold of the steering wheel while the other worked the pedals and sent a text message. It's a hell of a system, and you have to wonder how they got caught.
