Great song, of course. I'm a big fan of R.E.M.

I really like the song Hurricane by Bob Dylan, but it's tough for me to actually listen to it. I've just heard it so many times that I can't really hear it anymore unless I concentrate. Everyone's had a mixtape that stayed in the dash of their Chevy Cavalier all summer, and now those favorites are forever lost to the brain's burnt out playback. It's kind of like how you never actually hear the pump in the fish tank or the hum of the refrigerator anymore--it's just background noise. Some middle school science teacher said that we only process about 10% of the sound that hits our ears and the rest gets blocked out from our brain. Thank god for that brain. I'd jump off a bridge if I had to listen to people talk to me all day.

REM Green is just plain awful. The slide into mediocrity that had begun on Document was fully confirmed with the release of Green. If Stipe had died after Murmur, he would have been Cobain. Instead, he's just irrelevant.

I agree completely with Geoff...Green was the beginning of REM's slide into irrelevance after all those glorious albums full of jangle and mystery. Orange Crush was the nadir of this otherwise mediocre album....hate to say it.
