what it really should says is that by 2026 the number of songs in the Year End Top 50 chart performed by rock bands ("rock bands" being used... 'liberally') will approach 0.
it's like 5AM here right now, but i think i'll take a look at the raw numbers myself tomorrow and see what can i get

Taking a look at top grossing tours shows a very different picture, however. Rock Bands are still doing great there.

not sure if rock bands will ever die out. Bands like u2 always back out gigs. Even more modern bands like oasis always have sell out tours.
modern music is different to that of the 60s but rock does appear to have stood the test of time.
Just remember to wear a good pair of earplugs if you decide to go to a rock concert!
