Micropayments Return
Psst, micropayments are coming to news. Or at least WSJ, but I bet NYT soon enough. Update #1: FT.com story. Update #2: NYT planning some sort of NPR-ish membership model, which will not bring them to 2040.

Not even a whiff of I-told-you-so in your post, Rex. Narcissistic dilettante, maybe, but a gentleman.

I wonder if the WSJ BlackBerry app will remain free to use? I sure hope so. (Although my workplace gets a subscription anyway.)

Did a survey on the NYT site the other day in which all the questions were oriented around paying for content (do you pay for content on other sites; would you consider paying for NYT web content; how much would you consider too much/too little? etc.) so I'd saying they're looking at implementing micro-payments, definitely. I hope they don't though, because being a New Zealander I can't buy the paper version (easily). Their web content is awesome too, I really hope they don't reinstate a pay-wall.
