Look At This Fucking Book Deal

Least surprising news of the week: Look At This Fucking Hipster got a book deal.

As did Fuck You, Penguin. Last month. They should team up and release Look At This Fucking Hipster Penguin. I'd buy it and stick it next to my copy of Uncle John's Bathroom Reader.

Jealousy would be misplaced here. Dude now has to laboriously go through and get photo permissions from the people he's been making fun of. Sounds like good times to me.

This brings up a related question (first asked by Eric Suesz to my knowledge). What do you call those kind of blogs? Single subject, repeated theme, tend to be image focused. LATFH, FYP, LOLcats, cute overload, awkward family photos, etc. etc. They all follow a similar format. I asked Kottke about this--who's really good at giving things a name--but he didn't have a name either. LOL multiples, I think was the best example. LOLBlog? LOLtiples? There should be a name for these blogs. They deserve categorization--if only so we can call them a bygone trend.

I'm calling them Scatticles.

Ironically enough, LATFH is just a less clever, less funny rehash of Vice Magazine's "Fashion Dos and Don'ts"

Two things: Wordsmyte.com is a neologism engine that helps name annoying things. Might be worth submitting this annoyance for naming there?

I propose Guttenbait.
