Social Great
One of the first products from FourSquare's API: Social Great. It's pretty simple -- it shows the locations that are hot in nyc by hour, day, week, and all time -- but it's easy to imagine the potential.

Clever app but businesses are certainly going to start gaming the system to make their establishment seem more popular than it really is. They need only create multiple profiles and "check in" often with each. A restaurant could encourage their staff to check in often as an means to bring in more business and thus increase their tips.

Neato! I was just talking about how I was hoping they had an API today. Bummer no class to grab mayor info. Maybe in V1.2
