I think it's possible that the reason celebrity deaths are getting so much time, and the reason its sort of embedded in our consciousnesses right now, is that it's the summer, which is generally a 'slower' news period, no? There are two obits on nytimes right now: Robert Novak and Kim Dae-jung.
