Big Love

Big Love fans likely noticed tonight that the the old opening sequence with The Beach Boys.... ...had been replaced with a new one with Interpol's "Untitled": Better? Worse?

Btw, best part of the new ep was when they cracked open the Coors.

The new intro kind of creeped me out! I convinced my roommate to watch the show for the first time, and he was kind of looking at me funny during this. I was like, "No, no, this is new! It used to be much more ... whimsical!"

Anyway, it makes it seem like the season is going to be really dark and foreboding. I was just bummed that there was practically no Sarah last night.

(BTW Rex, fixed the cable modem issue!)

I don't like the change. I'll understand if it means something down the line, but it was just so dark and traumatic. They're all either falling or submerged/drowning. It doesn't look good! As for the episode itself, that may explain the mood change of the title sequence... without spoiling anything, it's been a recurring theme for the show to have Bill's family disrupted by outside forces relating to his polygamy and Juniper Creek, and we got to see more of that. At what point does Bill stop trying to (egotistically) clean up these other messes? From the looks of next week's preview: never.

But hey, it's Adam Beach! Good to see him! Still not happy the way they flushed his character out on L&O: SVU.

The new intro is not bad, but I liked the "God Only Knows" intro better.

I don't watch the show, but a question...is the Interpol version not just a promo for the new season?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is not intended to be an opening credits sequence. Notice the lack of the actors' names and such. And then at the end it says "Big Love: The New Season" or something like that. It's just a promo. But it's pretty cool, IMO.

No, it's also the new intro credit sequence. I just happened to grab the video that was repackaged as a promo.

Is that the same man who's falling in the 'Mad Men' opening sequence?

As someone who has repackaged a boatload of episodic tv, a new title sequence usually signifies the final season.
