Armond White

New York Press film critic Armond White went all pissy in The Post, claiming he was barred from Noah Baumbach's new Ben Stiller movie (huh?) because White once said mean things about The Squid And The Whale. But publicist Leslee Dart says Armond was nixed because he made personally insulting remarks about Baumbach, like "calling him a [bleep]hole and saying his mom should have had an abortion." Which is just so...I don't lololol-able? Not that I dislike Noah Baumbach, but it's funny to think of this little Wes Anderson protegee being told his mother should have had an abortion. Like the only thing that could make this funnier is if Christian Bale had said it. -- DG

Armond White is a contrarian dick. Dude loves the shit out of Transporter 3.

An actual quote from that review:
"Aficionados will appreciate the humor of a goons Are you the smart one? retort. Snobs will misunderstand the progress before their eyes. When Megaton makes Godardian symbolism of Martins hand retrieving a key from Valentinas, Transporter 3 evinces greater art than Van Sants studied poetic effects."

White is a troll. I'm not sure why he thinks that he needs to be invited to the premiere of film directed by someone whose work he regularly and personally savages.

It's also kind of odd to characterize Baumbach as Anderson's protegee (instead of friend and collaborator). Kicking and Screaming came out before Bottle Rocket.

Armond White - the most annoying person on the internet. He hated Precious, but loooved the last Transformers movie. (thumbs down)

I don't think anyone has ever been barred from a Ben Stiller movie. Sounds like fiction to me.
