Why The Middle Hates The Times

This was NYT's their breaking news alert just now:

Mr. Obama affixed his curlicue signature, almost letter by letter, to the measure, the Affordable Health Care for America Act, during a ceremony in the East Room of the White House, surrounded by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid and a raft of other lawmakers who spent the past year on a legislative roller-coaster ride trying to pass it. Aides said he would pass out the 20 pens he used as mementoes.

"affixed his curlicue signature"? Really? -RX

Oh no, flowery language! ANGRY!

Perhaps they should do lame ass Post style headlines and articles instead? Also, the "middle" isn't some monolithic entity. They're usually just people who don't feel strongly either way. They get pandered to so they can be persuaded by someone who does.

And I'm pretty sure a lot of the NYT detractors don't even read it. They just hate the idea of itwhat they *think* it is.

EDIT: They get pandered to so they can be persuaded by people who do.

I've also gotta remember that you strip out emdashes.

Why?

YES!! This is what Obama's signature normally looks like. I want to see the penmanship on bill, and I want to see video of the signing. The latter mainly because I want to see how he deals with the delicious absurdity of the pen switching.

Hahahah. "The Middle". That's some specific group you got thar!

Remember, polling indicates and common sense proves that they're mostly composed of closet Dems, closet Reps, or people who don't know anything about either group. Often willfully.
